TN50#38, You Could Leave Life Right Now, 20 September 2021

Hi Team,

Happy Monday and welcome to The Next 50 #38.

Please read, Be The Lighthouse (less than 2 minutes)

I met the author KDH, Kevin Davis Harper, in the sauna at Lifetime Fitness, many conversations occurred in that sauna and the gym.  Over the years I knew Kevin I observed that he made every man he ever met want to be a better man, better husband, better father, better citizen, better Christian, the list goes on and on.  He was “The Lighthouse” but he wasn’t afraid to revert back to “The Tugboat” if need be.

I attended KDH’s memorial ceremony in Denver yesterday.  I don’t know the exact details but Kevin died after getting COVID, he passed on September 4th, 2021.  I last saw Kevin in July, 2021 (just before he moved his family to Texas) as usual in the sauna at Lifetime Fitness Kevin was full of life and healthy as a horse.  I assumed I would get to see his new digs on one of my regular trips to Texas in the near future..

I have been wearing this medallion for the better part of a year as a reminder to myself of how I want to live my life better, better husband, father, Christian, son, coach, friend, citizen, et cetera; most days I come up short.  Kevin was all those things, he actually lived like he could leave life right now.

I am sharing this because:

  1. KDH was an amazing man, who lived life with no regrets and I want more people to know a little bit about him, to celebrate a life well lived.
  2. As a notice to me and everyone, don’t wait to do the things you need to do or say the things you need to say, you could leave life right now.
