TN50 #62, Operating in The Grey Zone, 07 March 2022
Hi Team,
Happy Monday and welcome to The Next 50 #62. We’ve all heard the following, “life is not always black and white it’s a million shades of grey.” Now you and I both know there are not a million shades of grey. Look at the picture, there are less than 20 and, IMO, some of these are the same!
So whether you are like me and feel there are only about 13 or you think there are 50 or even 1 million shades of grey here are 3 Grey Zones you should pay attention to.
- Grey Zone (International Relations) Here’s one that is very appropriate for the world in which we currently live.
- Grey Zone (Training) This one explains why you have most likely trained wrong for pretty much every long-distance event you have ever entered.
- Grey Zone (Culture) You’re at the water cooler for Pete’s sake, put the fire out!
However many shades of grey there are I bet at least 1 or 2 of these 3 will be valuable to everyone who takes the time to check them out. Who knows, maybe all 3.
As always, please share your thoughts and share this with your team or anyone who might find it useful.
Have a good one, Alex
The 3 things I gave up for Lent:
- Beer
- Peanut Butter, my crack cocaine (based on what I understand crack addiction to be like)
- Bread, to many buns in my life the last couple months
